If you've worked on a renovation project before, you know the pain point: you hire an architect, they take field measurements with a tape measure and a laser distance meter, they produce drawings, and then something doesn't match when construction starts. A wall is thicker than drawn. A beam is in a slightly different location. The floor isn't as level as the drawings assumed. These discrepancies cost time and money to resolve in the field.

LiDAR scanning eliminates this problem at the source.

How it works. A LiDAR scanner emits millions of laser pulses per second, measuring the distance to every surface it can see and building a three-dimensional point cloud, an exact digital replica of the physical space, accurate to within a few millimeters. Multiple overlapping stations, registered together, create a complete model of an entire building.

What we produce from the scan. At PUR4, we import the point cloud directly into Revit to build an as-built model of existing conditions. From that model, we produce floor plans, elevations, sections, and reflected ceiling plans that are accurate to actual field conditions, not estimated tape measurements. If that foundation is wrong, every drawing produced from it is also wrong.

The practical benefit for clients. A typical residential existing conditions survey for a 2,500 SF home that would take two technicians a full day with traditional methods takes 2 to 3 hours with LiDAR. The deliverable is more accurate, more complete, and can be shared digitally with any consultant on the project. For commercial landlords and developers, this means faster turnaround on as-built documentation and fewer surprises during fit-out design.

We offer LiDAR scanning as a standalone service, not just as part of a full architectural engagement.
